Echo Vascular Ultrasound Technologist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Echo Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at HexaQuEST Health, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of the Echo/Vascular Ultrasound Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist radiologists, cardiologists, and other physicians in achieving scans and films to diagnose patients undergoing ultrasound exams or sonograms.
- Provide and oversee patient care activities for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
- Utilize imaging information systems to ensure proper utilization.
- Work with fellow technologists to enhance cardiovascular ultrasound services and provide innovative methods and processes.
Requirements:
- Two years of experience preferred working in ultrasound performance.
- Registry eligibility required.
- Five years of experience preferred working in ultrasound performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of experience working in ultrasound performance.
- Two years of experience working in ultrasound performance and registry eligibility.
Working Conditions:
- Sitting for long periods.
- Working in stressful situations.
- Exposure to diseases and foul odors.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to utilize hands to manipulate transducer during exam.
- Must be able to use calculator, write, and use computer keyboard.
- Must be able to lift and move case supplies approximately 10-25 pounds.
- Must be able to assist in transfer of patient from wheelchair.
- Must be able to pull and/or push equipment up to 600 pounds to different locations.
- Must be able to stand approximately 2 hours per day for performing procedures.
- Must be able to walk throughout entire hospital to patient's rooms and back to Radiology Department.
- Must be able to sit for periods of time in excess of 3 hours during performance of exams and required paperwork.
- Must be able to climb four flights of stairs and utilize step stools.
Language Ability:
- Must be able to read and interpret medical terms, protocol, reports, and speak to communicate with patients, their family, hospital personnel, physicians, and others.
- Must be able to write down results of tests.
- Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and effectively with nurses, ward clerks, and physicians.
Reasoning:
- Must be able to make decisions when to order supplies, when to call physician regarding abnormal exams, use knowledge to produce diagnostic information from patient complaints and/or history.
