Our team understands the principles of connecting purpose to business and career placement. A client of ours is currently seeking a skilled professional for the role of Maintenance Planner/Scheduler.
Role OverviewThe Maintenance Planner/Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective completion of all maintenance projects in the mill during regular and annual maintenance days. This position is responsible for planning such projects, improving workforce productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.
Main Responsibilities- Safety Management: Responsible for the safety of all employees and more specifically the maintenance team members and contractors working on a maintenance project. Achieve the goal of no lost time accidents.
- Schedule Coordination: Coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effective completion of all work orders.
- Parts Management: Identify required parts for planned jobs, arrange pre-scheduled contractors, and assure that contractors meet requirements for qualifications such as confined space.
- Job Planning: Create job plans including labor, materials, services, tools, procedures, and walk-downs of critical jobs.
- Education: Certified Journeyman or Master in the millwright or electrical trade.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the trade in an industrial plant, preferably in a planning role at an OSB plant.
- Skills: Excellent computer skills including MS Office software, and ability to attain the Carver Planner/Scheduler Certification.
