Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team at Baker Group. As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support for Building Automation and Control Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design engineers, operation engineers, and purchasers to ensure seamless project execution
  • Start-up and commissioning of Microprocessor based control components, including PLC and DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, transducers, and associated components
  • Manage QA/QC checklists and commissioning logs to ensure high-quality results
  • Develop and implement automation solutions using ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming
  • Mentor and train Automation Technician I and II staff members
  • Lead medium to large-size projects and ensure timely completion
  • Perform point-to-point checkout of wiring and components for proper grounding, polarity, communication, and power
  • Set up and calibrate input and output devices, such as temperature sensors and pressure transducers
  • Upload, download, and modify control software and programs
  • Configure and troubleshoot automation networks and communication protocols
  • Identify and troubleshoot complex Automation HVAC and Electrical systems

Requirements:

  • Four to seven years of experience in automation-related fields
  • Associate degree in Electronic, Technology, or Automation-related field or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Valid driver's license

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and more occasionally
  • Warehouse: Ability to operate a forklift vehicle
