Oncology Care Specialist

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Oncology Evaluation and Treatment Center (OETC) team.
The APP will provide high-quality care to patients with oncologic conditions, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive treatment and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the oncology team.
- Administer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other medications as prescribed.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and symptom management.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Participate in oncology clinical trials and research initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Maryland.
- National certification as an NP or PA.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Strong clinical skills in oncology care, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).
- Bilingual proficiency.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and oncology medications.
