Job Overview:

As a Breast Health Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care to patients with breast health concerns and oncology needs. Working within a collaborative team model, you will be responsible for identifying and managing high-risk patient populations, coordinating their care, and ensuring the delivery of safe, age-appropriate patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify high-risk patient populations and manage their care throughout the treatment continuum.
  • Provide personalized guidance and support to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and care plan.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and support staff, to coordinate patient care.
  • Deliver safe, age-appropriate care in accordance with best practices and clinical guidelines.
  • Provide education to patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and support throughout their care journey.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree mandatory.
  • 4-5 years of oncology nursing experience required; experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
  • Maryland Registered Nurse License.
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • Oncology Nurse Certification (e.g., OCN or AOCN).
