Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, work crews, vehicles, or equipment according to predetermined schedules or customer requests.

  • Manage daily truck activity to optimize driver productivity and efficiency.

  • Review Driver requests for container switches or repairs and enter service tickets into the company database.

  • Initiate outbound calls to customers to resolve pick-up and service issues.

  • Coordinate with route supervisors, customer service, maintenance, or sales to resolve problems or requests for services.

  • Keep and organize work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, inventory records, and other information.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Mid-level experience in dispatching or a related field.

  • Experience in truck load or drayage dispatching.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.

  • Knowledge of applicable traffic, transportation, and other laws and regulations.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI).

  • Bilingualism (Spanish-English) is a plus but not required.

  • 1+ years of live dispatching experience.

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or certificate program completion.

  • Sanitation industry experience.

  • Strong knowledge of truck telematic and e-logs software like Samsara or similar is preferred.
