Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Kind Clinic, Austin location. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide direct patient care, work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient evaluations and care, including vital sign collection, medical history recording, and lab services.
  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication distribution, treatment administration, and patient education.
  • Conduct patient follow-up visits and physical examinations, adhering to accepted standards of care and Texas Nursing Practice Act guidelines.
  • Teach and counsel patients on health assessment, disease prevention, and health maintenance in a safe, affirming, and culturally appropriate manner.
  • Collaborate with Medical Assistant staff, providing clinical training and feedback to support their growth and development.
  • Review and prepare patient charts prior to daily visits, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Act as a mentor to clinic support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with the Patient Support Center RN team as needed, ensuring seamless communication and care coordination.
  • Follow organization policies and procedures when interpreting lab results, sending medication refills, or scheduling treatments.
  • Comply with Texas DSHS notifiable condition verbal reporting requirements related to in-clinic diagnoses of presumptive primary syphilis and acute HIV.
  • Prioritize work tasks and services, completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and concise progress notes, problem lists, and medication lists.
  • Communicate effectively and tactfully with staff, patients, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, contributing to the development of our clinical programs and services.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and other meetings as needed, staying informed about organizational initiatives and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Active RN nursing licensure valid in the state of Texas.
  • 2+ years of patient care experience in an outpatient clinic setting, with a focus on marginalized populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills.
  • Experience in HIV testing, HIV services, STI testing, and treatment clinics.
  • 2+ years of experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ and other marginalized groups.
