Critical Care Nurse Specialist

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with more than 360 beds, offering a range of services including emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
About the JobWe are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. The successful candidate will have experience in providing critical care to infants and be able to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and develop plans of care for infants in the NICU
- Implement and evaluate care plans, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families
- Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments of newborns
- Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience in an acute care setting, preferably in a NICU environment
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
- BLS certification and NRP certification required
- RNC-NIC certification and S.T.A.B.L.E. Neonatal Education Program Certification preferred
