RF Systems Engineer: Protecting National Security with Advanced Counter-Measures

We are seeking a talented RF Systems Engineer to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), where you will play a critical role in developing and implementing Electronic Counter-Measures (ECM) systems to protect military personnel from various wireless threats.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF/Microwave engineering, including experience with digital communications systems, RF circuit cascade analyses, and digital signal processing. They will be responsible for evaluating next-generation ECM systems, developing advanced techniques to defeat wireless threats, and collaborating with vendors to optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating the robustness of wireless communications systems to interference
- Developing automated test programs to characterize RF transmitters and receivers
- Collaborating with ECM system vendors to optimize performance and effectiveness
- Participating in field tests to evaluate threat defeat effectiveness
Requirements:
- Masters in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience developing and analyzing RF/Microwave circuits and systems
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing, including digital modulation and demodulation concepts and signal coding
- Experience with RF and microwave test measurements/test equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Team leadership/project management experience
- Electronic warfare applications experience
- Matlab experience simulating RF systems
