Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Custodian to join our team at UCLA Health West Valley Hospital. As a Senior Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and dust patient rooms, isolation rooms, nursing stations, ancillary rooms, exam rooms, procedure rooms, conference rooms, offices, hallways, corridors, and public areas.
  • Sweep, strip, and wax floors, as well as clean vertical and horizontal surfaces using approved cleaning solutions.
  • Operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, wall washing machines, shampoo machines, and floor machines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and write, follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
  • Ability to work in standing position for a long period of time, stretch, stoop, bend, climb, and reach repetitively.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and/or wet areas; lift 50 lbs. and push/pull 350 lbs.
  • Knowledge in the use, disposal, and labeling of chemicals used in a food service setting.
  • Ability to conform to dress code and work in a non-smoking environment.
  • Ability to practice safe food handling techniques.
  • Ability to adjust to fluctuating work load and work schedule.
  • Interpersonal skills and interact effectively with co-workers, customers, asst. managers, and managers.
