Job Summary

The Physician, Gastroenterology, is a critical role at LCMC Health, where our mission is to bring the best possible care to every person and parish in Louisiana and beyond. As a medical professional, you will provide high-quality care to patients, responding to their needs and concerns with compassion and expertise. Your role will involve performing routine examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, and providing immunizations according to medical or school guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality care to patients, responding to their calls and messages, and attending to their needs.
  • Maintain patient and business records, including the completion of daily patient encounters.
  • Observe patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and report immediately in accordance with appropriate policy.
  • Recognize emergencies and respond appropriately in adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in a physician call schedule, which is evenly distributed between providers, and offer patient meeting slots as deemed by the designed template.
  • Assist with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and other regulatory standards.
  • Implement standard and transmission-based precautions and ensure patient safety during clinic visits, in accordance with the hospital/regulatory policies.
  • Maintain a clean clinic working environment and report any safety hazards or violations in the patient or clinic environment to the clinic manager or designee.
Requirements
  • Completed residency training.
  • Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy.
  • American Heart Association, Basic Life Support-HCP, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification.
  • Medical Physician Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
Skills and Abilities
  • Medical skills.
  • Computer software skills.
  • ICD-10 and CPT-4, working knowledge.
