Job Title: Associate Attorney

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Attorney to join our team at Gurstel Law Firm, P.C. as a key member of our consumer collection litigation team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including:

  • Providing thorough and practical assessments and advice while advocating for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process.
  • Communicating with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes and negotiate matters to an amicable resolution.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Documenting account/file activity in accordance with the Firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Traveling to various courts in the State and effectively handling all aspects of a case's litigation life cycle.
  • Researching and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations and formulating legal opinions for review by supervising attorney.
  • Communicating with clients in a responsive manner to maintain and further develop client relationships.
  • Attending continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to remain current and well-informed of any local, state, or federal changes in the law, rules of court or court procedures.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A qualified attorney with no discipline history and an active license in the state for which they will work.
  • Experience in consumer collection litigation with advanced knowledge and thorough understanding of the legal regulatory framework of the industry.
  • Knowledge of the civil litigation process and state and federal consumer protection laws.
  • Ability to collaborate with other employees to utilize resources and knowledge of others in identifying high-quality solutions.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to effectively manage priorities to meet business requirements and deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses leadership skills and the ability to drive and motivate other employees to achieve results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across a broad spectrum of attorney and non-attorney recipients.
