Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Staff for Special Education to join our team. As a key member of our educational support team, you will work closely with students requiring instructional and behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or learning disabilities.
  • Assist students with personal care needs, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.
  • Support students with behavioral challenges, including developing and implementing behavior management plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless support and services.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, or at least 48 college credit hours completed.
  • Previous experience as a Teacher Assistant or comparable in-school position, preferably in Special Education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and systems.
