Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of medications to patients. This position requires strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medication to fill prescription requests for inpatient Unit Dose Cassettes and SRAlab sites of care.
- Prepack tablets, capsules, and liquids under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and according to policy.
- Prepare and deliver injections and I.V. admixtures.
- Order medications and supplies from wholesalers and other pharmaceutical sources, inspecting incoming merchandise for accuracy.
- Monitor stock for expiration dates, preparing returns for outdated drugs to wholesalers and manufacturers for credit.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Pharmacy and equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
- Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician license.
- Minimum 1 year of hospital-based experience.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
