The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting local engineering projects as directed by the Vice President of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Planning: Develop project approval requests for capital expenditures according to company investment guidelines.
- Project Development: Develop or support creation of key objectives for projects.
- Project Execution: Develop detailed project plans and schedules according to the goals and objectives for the project.
- Project Management: Identify any special requirements associated with the project and develop a test plan to validate compliance with such requirements.
- Contractor Management: Obtain and review contractor bids and select suppliers according to the needs of the project.
- Cost Management: Manage project costs according to the budget.
- Technical Coordination: Coordinate and oversee technical aspects of projects.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and accessible records of various details associated with projects.
- Procedure Development: Develop procedures, as applicable, for the operation, upkeep and/or maintenance of newly installed equipment.
- Reporting: Prepare reports and updates for management and other project stakeholders in relation to the project's budget, contractor activity and progress according to the project schedule.
The Project Engineer will also support the training activities of production and maintenance personnel as required.
Requirements:- Education: BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
- Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with formal project management experience.
- Skills: Hands on and effective project leader, willingness to travel as required for installation and project startup, experience in AUTOCAD or similar design software, experience with electrical and control systems is helpful, experience with extrusion is a plus.
