Job Summary:

The ENL Bilingual Instructional Coach will support the Office of Teaching and Learning in building capacity for effective instruction that meets the needs of ELLs. Your goal will be to increase English proficiency and academic achievement by providing innovative and research-based professional development and technical assistance to administrators, teachers, and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for ELLs.
  • Provide coaching and support to general education teachers to improve their ability to teach ELLs.
  • Develop and lead professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators on ELL instructional best practices.
  • Work with the ENL Department Chair to provide technical assistance to schools on ELL instructional strategies and resources.
  • Assist with the coordination of NYSITELL/NYSESLAT testing and provide support to schools on test preparation and administration.
Requirements:
  • Minimum five (5) years of ENL teaching experience in NYS with tenure.
  • NYS TESOL Certification.
  • Experience leading other teachers to achieve strong academic results.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Prior demonstration of exemplary attendance.
