Position Overview:
The Addictions Counselor Assistant plays a crucial role within the multidisciplinary team at the Addiction Treatment Center. This position operates under the guidance of a licensed Addictions Counselor, contributing to the care and support of clients facing addiction challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Addictions Counselor Assistant include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing support in individual and group counseling sessions, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
  • Assisting in the development and evaluation of personalized treatment plans based on direct observations and client discussions.
  • Coordinating care with external referral sources for admissions and discharges, including aftercare referrals.
  • Completing necessary documentation for clients and the facility, ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations.
  • Facilitating recreational, vocational, and social activities as required.
  • Assisting with client transportation and conducting necessary room searches.
  • Preparing supplies for new admissions, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Conducting routine checks and documenting observations to maintain a safe and therapeutic atmosphere.
  • Providing mentorship to new or less experienced staff regarding operational procedures.
  • Handling inquiries related to insurance and care coordination.
  • Monitoring client safety and building security.
  • Participating in meal preparation and distribution.
  • Communicating essential information during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
This position requires candidates to maintain eligibility for participation in Medicaid and Medicare programs. A thorough background investigation will be conducted, including checks against various registries and criminal history records.
