Department Overview
Join our Winter Park Medical Center team where you will play a crucial role in delivering patient care and education in an outpatient environment.

Position Summary
As an ambulatory care services (ACS) RN, you will provide comprehensive patient care and education to a diverse population, adhering to the highest standards of nursing practice. You will utilize critical thinking and evidence-based approaches to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, ensuring optimal safety and quality outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement evidence-based care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, modifying them as necessary based on patient responses and conditions. Provide safe and effective nursing care and education in an outpatient clinic setting, including but not limited to newborn visits, wound care, and diabetes education. (20%)
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments, gathering comprehensive data relevant to the patient’s situation, and communicate findings to the healthcare team. (15%)
  • Collaborate with patients and the healthcare team to establish measurable goals and strategies for care, advocating for patients and their families in accordance with professional standards. (15%)
  • Support the healthcare team through supervision and training of clinic staff, facilitating problem-solving and coordination of patient care activities. (15%)
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and reports. (10%)
  • Assist in preparing patients for examinations and treatments. (10%)
  • Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses. (5%)
  • Provide direction and supervision to less experienced nursing staff. (5%)
  • Foster a positive patient experience through compassionate care. (5%)
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a direct patient care environment
Licenses and Certifications:
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA Required
  • RN-Registered Nurse - DORA Required
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong adherence to professional nursing standards and practices.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data effectively.
  • Proficient in using medical equipment and technology for patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; EPIC documentation preferred.
