About the PositionWe are seeking a highly motivated Transformation Specialist to join our team in the Rental Assistance Program (RAP) in Jackson County.
The RAP Transformation Specialist plays a critical role in helping individuals navigate complex systems, including rental applications, HUD/alternative subsidy applications, benefits systems, public transportation, and more. The ideal candidate will have personal experience with mental health challenges and be certified as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).
This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong ability to build connections with individuals, and a passion for empowering them to achieve their goals. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct housing searches and access community resources on behalf of clients
- Motivate individuals with behavioral health challenges to transition into their apartments and maintain that apartment
- Engage clients in maintaining good tenant/neighbor relationships and living in the community
**Requirements:**
- Personal experience with mental health challenges
- Certified and Registered as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)
- Valid Oregon driver's license and safe driving record
- Able to pass a DHS criminal background check
- Ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
