Key Responsibilities:

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering technical assistance to our internal teams. This position involves diagnosing, prioritizing, and resolving issues related to desktop and laptop systems, as well as network connectivity.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees facing IT challenges, providing immediate support or escalating issues as necessary.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, software applications, and peripheral devices.
  • Guide end-users through step-by-step troubleshooting processes, ensuring compliance with established IT protocols.
  • Document all support interactions in the ticketing system, maintaining accurate records of user assistance.
  • Collaborate with Tier 2 support for complex issues while managing user expectations throughout the resolution process.
  • Facilitate communication between end-users and System Administrators to ensure efficient problem resolution and service delivery.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Basic familiarity with desktop and laptop hardware and software troubleshooting (0-2 years of experience).
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking and related services (e.g., DNS, SMTP, DHCP).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory concepts and basic administration.
  • Familiarity with desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity software (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to create technical documentation and user guides, as well as provide training to peers and end-users.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, employees may be required to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. The role involves standing for extended periods, walking, and using hands for various tasks. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to electrical hazards and work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the workplace is typically moderate.
