Job Title: EMT Educator

Job Summary:

The EMT Educator is a key member of the RWJ New Brunswick team, responsible for delivering high-quality Emergency Medical Technician education programs that meet the highest standards. As an EMT Educator, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of educational programs that align with the N.J.A.C. 8:40A guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging and effective educational programs for EMT students, ensuring that they meet the required standards and guidelines.
• Collaborate with the EMT Program Manager to plan, coordinate, and conduct EMT initial, renewal, and continuing education classes.
• Provide oversight and support to ensure that program content and instructional programs comply with the standards and guidelines set forth in the program curriculum.
• Model the expected behaviors and engage staff with professionalism, courtesy, and respect, supporting the daily operations of education programs within the Training Center.
• Conduct all programs to the accrediting agency's standards, maintaining a positive affective presence while conducting educational programs to outside customers, employees, and co-workers.
• Complete course paperwork at the conclusion of class and submit rosters electronically prior to the completion of the workday.
• Assist at EMT programs, nursing competencies, mock codes, high school health programs, school mock codes, hands-only CPR events, health fairs, and/or other community or system events.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or GED
• NJ EMT Instructor Certification
• AHA BLS Provider CPR Instructor
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, more than 1 year of active NJ EMT instructor experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• NJ EMT Instructor Certification
• AHA BLS Provider CPR Instructor

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• Arrives on time to scheduled classes as listed on electronic scheduling system
• Prepares training equipment and classroom prior to the scheduled start time of class
• Maintain a positive affective presence while conducting educational programs to outside customers, employees, and co-workers
• Conducts all programs to the accrediting agency's standards
• Completes course paperwork at the conclusion of class and submits rosters electronically prior to the completion of the workday
• Maintain all training equipment and completes any daily reports or department checklist as outlined by the Director
• Teach and monitor new and renewing instructors, if designated a Training Center Faculty Member by the TCC
• Provider constructive feedback while maintaining a positive affective presence
• Assist at EMT programs, nursing competencies, mock codes, high school health programs, school mock codes, hands-only CPR events, health fairs, and/or other community or system events
