EMT Educator

Job Overview:

The EMT Educator - Training Specialist is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and conducting Emergency Medical Technician initial, renewal, and continuing education classes that meet regulatory guidelines. The EMT Educator will support classes held at RWJBarnabas Health campuses or sponsored offsite locations, ensuring program content and instructional programs comply with established standards and guidelines. The EMT Educator will report directly to the EMT Program Manager and model expected behaviors, engaging staff with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. The EMT Educator will also support daily operations of education programs within the Training Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrive on time to scheduled classes and prepare training equipment and classroom prior to the start time.
• Maintain a positive affective presence while conducting educational programs for outside customers, employees, and co-workers.
• Conduct programs to accrediting agency standards and complete course paperwork at the conclusion of class.
• Submit rosters electronically prior to the completion of the workday and maintain all training equipment.
• Teach and monitor new and renewing instructors, if designated a Training Center Faculty Member by the TCC.
• Provide constructive feedback while maintaining a positive affective presence.
• Assist at EMT programs, nursing competencies, mock codes, high school health programs, school mock codes, hands-only CPR events, health fairs, and/or other community or system events.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or GED
• NJ EMT Instructor Certification
• AHA BLS Provider CPR Instructor
• Per Diem scheduling

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
• More than 1 year of active NJ EMT instructor experience
