Job Title: Distribution Driver Class A

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distribution Driver Class A to join our team at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering products to clients across the state, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver products to bars, restaurants, hotels, and other establishments across the state
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
  • Receive payment for goods delivered and maintain accurate records
  • Sort merchandise by invoice for delivery and adhere to safe and courteous operation of the delivery vehicle
  • Check-in money and returned goods daily with the Driver Check-in & Accounting Cashier
  • Complete all required paperwork daily, including the Department of Transportation logbook and driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR)
  • Report to work in adherence to company uniform standards and adhere to all safety regulations
  • Plan trip logistics and obtain necessary documents to transport goods
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring safety equipment is being utilized and cargo is secured properly
  • Report any incidents to the dispatcher and follow all traffic laws
  • Maintain vehicle, product, and equipment in good working order and perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • 21 years or older
  • Must be Department of Transportation (DOT) certified
  • Commercial Driver's License required

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently sitting and operating a motor vehicle
  • Considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • Additional hours may be required during peak periods
  • Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift
  • May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater
  • Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 56lbs
