Position Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for upholding quality standards and practices within the organization. This role involves overseeing the activities of onsite inspectors and ensuring compliance with established protocols. The QC Supervisor possesses a comprehensive understanding of relevant processes, codes, and specifications, enabling them to conduct routine quality inspections effectively. Additionally, this position requires proficiency in QC equipment operations and the documentation of inspections and testing results. The QC Supervisor will work closely with the QC Manager to align with the company's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the Quality Control Technician team, implementing strategies to meet departmental objectives and uphold quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support in quality control processes.
- Ensure all personnel receive appropriate safety training.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve various quality-related issues and opportunities.
- Maintain an inventory of materials pertinent to QC operations.
- Communicate with vendors to procure necessary QC supplies.
- Research and assess products for potential acquisition.
- Facilitate communication among staff and management as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Actively engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing the company's overall performance.
- Represent the organization professionally in all internal and external interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary education is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 1 to 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and recordkeeping systems.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments and laboratory equipment.
- Understanding of company policies and operational procedures.
- Able to interpret regulations, manufacturer manuals, and technical drawings.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in staff supervision and leadership principles.
- Familiar with employment relations practices.
- Able to define job expectations and assess performance.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and coordinating staff activities.
- Proficient in conflict resolution and counseling techniques.
- Knowledgeable in policy development principles.
- Adept at problem analysis and solution development.
- Familiar with materials management, including procurement and inventory control.
- Knowledgeable about Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safe chemical handling practices.
