Cleveland Clinic's Integrated Hospital Care Institute is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Acute Care certified Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the CSICU at Hillcrest Hospital. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for managing critically ill inpatients, conducting daily rounds, writing notes, and providing backup support during rapid response and code situations.
Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and initiate appropriate lab and radiology tests to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
- Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, as well as assist in the management of more complex illness and injury.
- Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority.
- Participate in medical team rounds, educate patients regarding their disease, and refer patients to specialists as appropriate.
- Ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patients and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team.
- APRN: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
- Graduate of an accredited ARPN training program.
- PA: Graduate of an A.R.C.-approved Physician Assistant Program.
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or applicable state license through the State Medical Board for certificate to practice.
- National certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing, current licensure by applicable state Board of Nursing, and Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) may be required based upon work setting.
The CSICU at Hillcrest Hospital is a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires strong analytical and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team setting. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously, think critically, and prioritize tasks effectively.
