Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at the Kennewick School District. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing assessment, therapy, and consultation services to students with communication disorders.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work with students aged 3-21, providing individual, small group, and classroom-based services. You will be a member of a team assessing, placing, and programming for all disabled students, collaborating with regular and special education teachers, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment, therapy, and consultation services to students with communication disorders
  • Work with students individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings
  • Collaborate with regular and special education teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration
Requirements:
  • Washington State ESA certificate with Speech and Language Pathologist endorsement or ability to obtain
  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology
  • Satisfactory evaluations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Academic background in speech pathology and audiology
  • Ability to complete assessments and develop IEPs and therapy plans
  • Understanding of Federal and State laws pertaining to disabled students
  • Ability to work with students in a positive and enthusiastic manner
  • Knowledge and experience working with students with autism and significant disabilities
  • Experience teaming with other professionals
  • Able to maintain proper records and facilitate necessary paperwork
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, pushing or pulling 18-26 lbs, sitting, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, using hands to type, finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a school setting with moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
