Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Imaging Specialist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of vascular and cardiac ultrasound procedures, including Doppler echocardiograms, vascular ultrasound procedures, and carotid duplex exams.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vascular and cardiac ultrasound procedures, including Doppler echocardiograms, vascular ultrasound procedures, and carotid duplex exams.
  • Recognize and demonstrate to physicians normal structures and pathology of venous and arterial systems.
  • Provide patient care specific to procedural requirements and patient needs, under the supervision of the physician, within established departmental protocols.
  • Obtain relevant patient history and provide thorough explanations of procedures and risks to patients.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment, including cleaning of equipment and reporting equipment malfunctions.
  • Participate in maintaining professional growth, self-development objectives, and skill enhancement, while serving as a resource to the practice for vascular imaging.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of vascular experience or a graduate from an accredited vascular program with a minimum of an associate's degree.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, ability to work well with others, good communication skills, and good organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills, able to navigate Windows-based applications, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and use patient handling equipment when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with various age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to provide a safe environment.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints, communicate with patients, and respond to patients in a timely manner.
