Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Wexford Health Sources. As a Behavioral Health Authority, you will be responsible for delivering contracted services, personnel, and coordination of psychiatric/behavioral health services and programs. You will serve as the liaison between Wexford Health and the correctional system, ensuring compliance with ACA/NCCHC standards and correctional system regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational psychiatric and behavioral health plans and policies
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Interview and evaluate behavioral health personnel as needed
  • Meet regularly with site mental health staff to ensure appropriate provision of services
  • Coordinate training for behavioral health and institutional staff on mental health issues
  • Assure timely completion and submission of parole evaluations
  • Follow and enforce security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications
  • Participate in and conduct in-service programs; assist in orientation of new staff
Requirements
  • Current IL State Medical license required
  • Current IL Controlled Substance license required
  • Current DEA required
  • Board Certification - American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology required
  • CPR certification required
  • Medical degree with psychiatry residency required
Preferred Experience

3 years experience in an institutional healthcare setting preferred. Correctional healthcare experience preferred.
