Automotive Service Specialist

- Effectively execute necessary services utilizing advanced automotive technology.
- Support technician mechanics in carrying out technical tasks.
- Examine, diagnose, and repair automotive systems to meet specifications, including engine, transmission, brakes, hydraulic systems, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical systems, steering, suspension, alignment, braking, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Clearly communicate identified technical issues and required repairs to service advisors and, when needed, to customers.
- Continuously pursue and acquire new technical knowledge, tools, and techniques through formal training to keep pace with evolving technology.
- Accurately document findings on approved forms to facilitate customer estimates and appropriate repairs.
- Assist technicians/mechanics in executing technical tasks.
- Keep management informed of mechanical repair issues as they arise.
- Safeguard and maintain work tools.
- Power down and secure equipment when not in use.
- Uphold an organized, clean, and hazard-free workspace.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in automotive mechanical diagnostics, problem-solving, and repair skills essential for success in this role.
- A high degree of motivation, energy, and strong customer service abilities are required.
- Necessary hand tools for services performed.
- Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment, including scanners, electrical diagnostic tools, A/C recovery systems, fluid exchange equipment, and lift operation.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and A/C Refrigerant Handling certifications are advantageous but not mandatory unless performing A/C or other licensed services.
- Ability to recognize, understand, and respond to changing requirements and work effectively under various environmental conditions.
- Capability to bend, stoop, reach, and retrieve; lift, move, carry, and load items of various sizes and weights in operable and undamaged conditions.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Maintaining a valid driver's license and the ability to operate various vehicle types are required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
