Key Responsibilities as a Full-Time Weekend Nights Charge Nurse:

  • Oversee the delivery of safe and effective patient care during off-hours, weekends, and holidays in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer or Nurse Manager.
  • Conduct assessments across all departments to ensure continuity of care and relay essential information to management.
  • Communicate any unusual occurrences or patient complaints promptly for appropriate follow-up and intervention.
  • Ensure that nursing staff executes all patient care tasks in a manner that prioritizes patient safety and minimizes the risk of medical errors.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate documentation, including medical necessity, by staff in patient records; oversee the completion and updates to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction metrics, and outcomes to foster continuous improvement; share findings with the nursing team.
  • Facilitate education and training for nursing staff on Quality Indicators (QIs) and ensure timely and accurate assessments and scoring.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program with current licensure in Missouri; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.Certification as a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) is preferred.A minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitative or acute care settings, demonstrating leadership capabilities.Proven ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct clinical personnel activities; effective communication skills in English, with proficiency in additional languages preferred; basic computer skills are necessary.Exhibit strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
