Amentum HVAC/R Technician III Job Description

Job Summary:

Amentum is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician III to join our team in Greenville, SC. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert-level maintenance and repair services for industrial HVAC/R equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial HVAC/R equipment, including ventilation systems, pumps, fans, and rooftop AHUs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical circuits, including 3-phase power up to 480V, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Utilize Automated Building Controls training to respond to customer requests and provide feedback.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, and replacing filters.
  • Work safely with 3-phase power and electrical circuits, and follow proper safety guidelines and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience as an HVAC/R maintenance technician in an industrial environment.
  • EPA Type 1 certification.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical school diploma in industrial electrical, industrial mechanical, HVAC, or a related skilled trade.
  • Experience working with electrical voltage up to 480V 3 phase.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Experience repairing and installing sheet metal as related to air handling systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and stretch repetitively during shift.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
