We are seeking a compassionate Community Habilitation Specialist to join our team at The New York Foundling. As a seasoned professional, you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live their best lives.

Your Role

You will be responsible for assessing and observing individuals' skills development, identifying incentives in learning new skills and behaviors, and engaging primary caregivers and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment. You will implement problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, and outcome review and strategy revision procedures using the model's Analytic process (Brief Family Systems Therapy and Parental Management Training).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular assessments and observations of individuals' skills development
  • Identify incentives in learning new skills and behaviors
  • Engage primary caregivers and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment
  • Implement problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, and outcome review and strategy revision procedures
  • Develop valued outcomes with steps on how to achieve them based on caregivers/community supports and behaviors observed along with child/adolescent strengths

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety

Education Required

High School / G.E.D.

Salary Range: $17.72-$18.52 per hour
