Clinical Research Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist needed for a clinical research site in New York. This is a Monday to Friday position.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced phlebotomist with over 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. The ideal candidate must be proficient with straight needles and comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one. Reliability, punctuality, and strong communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment. Update patient information.
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection processes as required.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order.
- Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct against scripts.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Store specimen samples at required temperatures, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label them, and follow procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimens during transport.
