Database Developer

Marcus & Millichap, Inc. is seeking a skilled Database Developer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design and development, with the ability to turn business requirements into efficient and effective applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain databases to ensure efficient data retrieval and management.
  • Collaborate with developers, administrators, and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements.
  • Design and implement database solutions, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views using T-SQL.
  • Perform database performance tuning, diagnose and troubleshoot errors, and recommend emerging database technologies.
  • Create and manage comprehensive database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Automate recurring database tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain and enforce database standards, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Implement SSIS and SSRS for data integration and reporting.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in database development, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with database technologies such as MS SQL.
  • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.
  • Familiarity with Azure highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality code and follow best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational database concepts and database design principles.
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing complex T-SQL queries and database scripts.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with database automation tools and techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Agile development practices including the Scrum framework.
  • Team Foundation Services and Git.
  • Strong work ethic requiring minimal supervision required.
  • A sense of curiosity.
  • Good communication skills.
