Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor I

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is looking for committed professionals to serve as Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor I. This role is centered around providing vocational rehabilitation services aimed at assisting individuals with disabilities in obtaining and sustaining employment. The successful candidate will perform evaluations, create tailored employment strategies, and oversee effective job placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert vocational guidance to clients
  • Utilize vocational assessment instruments
  • Craft Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE)
  • Conduct employment readiness workshops
  • Track client progress and monitor objectives
  • Build partnerships with service providers and employers
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities

  • Understanding of job placement processes for individuals with disabilities
  • Familiarity with psychological assessment tools
  • Dedication to continuous professional growth
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Experience in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field along with four years of experience in vocational counseling. A Master's degree or relevant graduate credits may substitute for some experience.
