Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical CAD Specialist:

- Design and model mechanical components intended for integration with sensor assemblies.

  1. Analyze and interpret technical documents to aid in the design of mechanical enclosures.
  2. Collaborate with engineers to discuss and clarify design concepts, ensuring detailed working drawings meet requirements.

- Create detailed and assembly drawings of design components, circuitry, and printed circuit boards using computer-aided design tools or traditional drafting methods.

- Monitor Engineering Change Order (ECO) and New Product Release (NPR) systems for follow-up and task completion.

- Maintain a record of drawing revision history and product standards.

- Stay updated with industry trends by participating in educational workshops, reviewing relevant publications, and building professional networks.

- Contribute to team success by achieving related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Education Requirements for Mechanical CAD Specialist:

(R) Vocational School/Technical or Business Certification/College Coursework

(P) Associate's Degree, Trade or Technical School

(P) Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Degrees: CAD, Mathematics, or related apprenticeship or work experience.

Training, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

Required Training in this field:

  1. (R) Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment.
  2. (R) Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD Software.
  3. (P) Basic understanding of HVAC/R principles.
  4. (P) Experience in prototyping.

Required Experience/Knowledge:

  1. (R) Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  2. (R) Proficient in using computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and SolidWorks.
