Compensation

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently assess damages and defects in furniture items to determine repairability. Make necessary adjustments to ensure items are in pristine condition for delivery.
  • Prioritize and execute daily, weekly, and monthly repair tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Accurately document the status of ongoing, completed, and overdue work.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order replacement parts, and complete installations as required.
  • Engage in clear communication by asking clarifying questions when necessary.
  • Apply appropriate repair techniques for various product types, including:
    • Evaluating furniture to identify required wood and upholstery repairs, parts, and materials.
    • Executing burn-ins, refinishing, joinery, color matching, and simulating wood grain for case goods.
    • Refinishing and patching damaged furniture using paint, stain, enamel, or lacquers; mixing colors to match existing finishes.
    • Repairing, replacing, and reconstructing damaged wood, leather, upholstery, or mechanical components.
    • Utilizing tools such as power drills, sanders, saws, and other necessary equipment for repairs.
    • Employing scanning technology to document carton-level information, including condition, quantity, warehouse location, and details of repairs performed.
    • Contributing insights into existing user tools and recommending improvements based on expertise.
    • Actively participating in team discussions and contributing to the development of training materials.
    • Collaborating effectively with team members to achieve common goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in furniture repair or construction.
  • Advanced knowledge of wood item repairs, including color and stain matching, and damage repair.
  • Proficient in using both power and hand tools as necessary.
  • Advanced understanding of upholstery repairs across various fabric types is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted and move products weighing over 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Capability to work on the warehouse floor for extended periods.
  • Consistent work ethic and effective time management skills.
  • Comfortable using scanning technology.
  • Proficient in reading and comprehending English for safety and operational purposes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Certification in Furniture Repair/Restoration is preferred.
