Job Title: Global Banking and Markets Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Banking and Markets Analyst to join our team at Goldman Sachs. As a key member of our Short Term Interest Rate Trading (STIR) desk, you will be responsible for conducting economic research and preparing reports on monetary policy, fiscal policy, and macroeconomic analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis on monetary and public finance economics to project and understand short-dated financing across instruments.
  • Research models and fund flows that drive debt issuances and their impact on short-term interest rates.
  • Monitor and interact with Repo and Short-Term Interest Rate product markets across end users.
  • Optimize the STIR/Repo Trading Desk's inventory in anticipation of client demand.
  • Collaborate with the salesforce to articulate the Trading Desk's views on market and economic trends.
  • Conduct analysis for clients and the Trading desk on a frequent basis, including analyzing the impact of Federal Reserve actions on interest rates and the economy.
  • Help the STIR/Repo Trading Desk forecast economic variables and interest rates over time.
  • Actively contribute to publishing newsletters and commentaries for clients on the Trading Desk's views on the U.S. economy and financing conditions.

  • Interest in capital markets and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to multi-task and work with numerous colleagues and desks across the Firm.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with desire to work hard and develop capital markets acumen in a team environment.
