Position Summary

KIPP Pride High School is seeking a Head Varsity Volleyball Coach who possesses the experience and capability to lead and develop a successful volleyball program. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and fostering an environment conducive to both academic and athletic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and direct the volleyball program in accordance with KIPP Pride High School and relevant governing bodies.
  • Manage team operations, including coaching, training, and supporting student-athletes in their academic and athletic pursuits.
  • Collaborate with the athletic director to establish and adhere to a budget for the volleyball program.
  • Coordinate scheduling of games and officials in partnership with athletic staff.
  • Engage with support organizations to facilitate fundraising efforts for the volleyball program.
  • Set and evaluate goals for the volleyball team, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives.
  • Develop and oversee an orientation program for athletes and their families.
  • Ensure ongoing academic and disciplinary eligibility of all team members.
  • Supervise assistant coaches and student-athletes, addressing any issues with school administration.
  • Organize all travel arrangements for team events.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to students and staff.
  • Assist with additional coaching responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with prior coaching experience in volleyball at the club, youth, or high school level. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with players, parents, and school administration.

Work Environment:

This position operates in various settings, including offices, gymnasiums, training facilities, and outdoor environments. Availability for evening work and travel for practices and games is required. Candidates must also be physically capable of training and coaching athletic teams and must pass a background check.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time position compensated through a seasonal stipend. It is not eligible for benefits but may be combined with a full-time staff or faculty role.
