Procurement Specialist

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Buyer role at QEP Co Inc.

This position operates under the guidance of the Vice President of Purchasing and is integral to our manufacturing processes. The Buyer will engage deeply with operations to ensure that purchasing deadlines are adhered to, while balancing cost, quality, and delivery timelines. The role also encompasses the sourcing of both new and existing products, with a focus on enhancing the supply chain through the identification of logistical best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire goods, materials, components, or services in accordance with defined cost, quality, and delivery standards.
• Draft and disseminate detailed technical bid invitations or requests for proposals; assess and compare bids, quotes, and proposals, ultimately awarding contracts.
• Investigate and assess potential areas for cost reduction.
• Generate purchase orders.
• Negotiate and execute supply agreements.
• Assess suppliers and ensure accountability for their performance.
• Maintain a professional and consistent approach in managing all supplier relationships.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues at all organizational levels.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in purchasing and sourcing, ideally within a manufacturing context (4+ years).
• Capability to monitor various indices related to raw material procurement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet, email applications, and ERP systems.
• Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive mindset with a business-oriented approach.
• Able to work autonomously and take initiative, while also being receptive to guidance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Competent in performing calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
• Skilled in fostering team morale and commitment to shared goals by supporting the success of all team members.
• Prioritizes team success over individual interests by encouraging and welcoming constructive feedback.
• Contributes positively to team dynamics by emphasizing collective achievements.
