Clinical Support Assistant for Orthotics and Prosthetics

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Assistant to join our team at Hanger Clinic. As a Clinical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our certified clinicians with patient care, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist practitioners with patient care under direct supervision, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
- Prepare patient rooms and equipment for treatment, making and modifying molds, and performing technical fabrication tasks.
- Accurately document patient care provided, maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform selected patient care procedures, including the fitting of soft goods, under the guidance of supervising certified clinicians.
- Provide alterations to soft goods fittings as needed, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct patient follow-up for selected orthotic and prosthetic patients, working closely with certified clinicians to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage shipping, receiving, and inventory, ensuring efficient operations and minimizing waste.
- Coordinate with vendors to order prosthetic and orthotic materials, maintaining a well-stocked inventory.
- Ensure all patient procedures are performed in alignment with certifying clinicians' guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Comply with Medicare and other governmental regulations, as well as blood-borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and driving record within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures standards.
- Allied Health Professionals (PTA, OTA, Athletic Trainer, etc.) may be supervised under indirect supervision.
- Orthotic or Soft Goods Fitter experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to verify clinical activities with certified clinical personnel.
- Capacity to follow written and verbal directions.
- Hand skills necessary to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of biomechanical principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for reporting information to patients and staff.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan for meeting deadlines.
