Procurement Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement activities and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchasing Strategies: Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet business needs, including managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
• Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet theater demands without overstocking or running out of materials, including managing safety stock, reorder points, and inventory turnover rates.
• Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, commodity teams, and other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials/services through the supply chain, including tracking shipments, resolving delays, and coordinating with logistics.
• Material Planning and Forecasting: Analyze demand forecasts and lead times to create material requirements plans, ensuring that materials are ordered in the correct quantities and delivered on time to avoid any disruptions.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Work closely with suppliers to negotiate terms, monitor performance, resolve issues, and develop long-term relationships, assessing supplier reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Cost Management: Work closely with commodities teams to reduce material/service costs, such as negotiating better prices with suppliers, finding alternative suppliers, or optimizing inventory levels, managing material budgets and tracking expenses.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and train the team, establishing clear objectives, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring team members have the resources and knowledge to perform effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing.
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
