About the Role

PBK Architects is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Civil Engineering to join our team in California. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing project team performance, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving growth strategies for our civil engineering division.

Your Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement divisional goals and growth strategies to expand our civil engineering services nationwide
  • Maintain a strong culture of client service and innovation within the civil group, aligned with PBK's core values
  • Ensure all projects undergo thorough QA/QC review processes
  • Participate in state-wide strategic planning sessions with top California leadership
  • Monitor project performance standards, accountability, and efficiency
  • Manage the financial performance of the division, including staffing and profitability
  • Collaborate with the HR department to attract top-level talent
Requirements
  • Must be a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California or acquire licensing within 3 months of hiring
  • 15+ years of professional experience in engineering, including management experience
  • Experience working in site and land development
  • Client-oriented personality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with K-12 education projects is a plus
  • Experience with DSA in California is a plus
