About the Role

PBK Architects is seeking a highly experienced Director of Civil Engineering to lead our team in California. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing project team performance, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving growth strategies for our civil engineering division.

Your Responsibilities
  • Establish divisional goals and growth strategies to serve nationwide PBK offices
  • Maintain a strong culture of client service and innovation within the civil group
  • Ensure thorough QA/QC review process for all projects
  • Participate in state-wide strategic planning sessions with top California leadership
  • Monitor project performance standards, accountability, and efficiency
  • Manage divisional financial performance, including staffing and profitability
  • Collaborate with HR to attract top-level talent
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in California or acquire within 3 months
  • 15+ years of professional experience in engineering, including management
  • Experience in site and land development
  • Client-oriented personality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with K-12 education projects and DSA in California a plus
