Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician in a plastic molding facility, you will oversee the upkeep and troubleshooting of machinery utilized in the production of plastic molded components. Your skills will encompass electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor systems, allowing you to manage various facets of the maintenance process. You will collaborate closely with engineers, operators, and fellow maintenance staff to ensure the effective implementation and optimal functionality of all systems, thereby minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to proactively detect potential issues.
- Develop strategies to identify and resolve recurring equipment challenges.
- Plan and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to maximize machinery uptime and prolong its operational lifespan.
- Install, configure, and repair machinery, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor components, in accordance with engineering specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), robotic controllers, servo drives, and related equipment.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor systems, robotic systems, conveyors, injection molding machines, and other associated equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor components, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Respond swiftly to alarms, errors, or breakdowns in any systems, taking appropriate measures to resolve issues.
- Work collaboratively with operators to provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting assistance as required for all equipment.
- Maintain precise documentation of equipment installation, maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications for all machinery.
- Keep thorough records of maintenance work, trends, and outcomes to support data-driven decision-making.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation systems and processes for electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and facilities.
- Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards associated with the installation and operation of automation equipment.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to maintenance and automation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in automation, mechatronics, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or plumbing preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a maintenance and automation technician or in a similar role, ideally in a plastic molding environment, with expertise in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
- Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, servo drives, stepper motor controllers, as well as electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls.
- Familiarity with plastic molding processes, machinery, and related systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals for electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor components.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and rectify equipment malfunctions related to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and stepper motor systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
