Position Overview

The Clinic Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in assisting with direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This position requires effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team to implement tailored care plans that address individual patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Provide essential daily living support, including bathing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all necessary clinical skills and technologies in line with Inova Health System's policies.
  • Complete assigned patient tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Demonstrate understanding of patient growth and development to provide appropriate care.
  • Accurately document patient information and reinforce discharge instructions and home care practices.
  • Promptly communicate any changes in patient status to the supervising Registered Nurse.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to develop a professional growth plan to enhance patient care skills.
  • May undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Work Schedule

This position involves a 12-hour day shift with a commitment of two days per week. Candidates must be available for a 6-week training course upon hire.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification: BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Training: Attendance at a mandatory 6-week training orientation is required.
