Cobb Growout House Worker

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to work in our growout houses, ensuring the health and well-being of our birds. As a Cobb Growout House Worker, you will be responsible for attending to and caring for birds, inspecting them to determine quality and progress, and performing various duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Feed and water birds according to schedules, inspecting water lines, picking up and disposing of mortality, and examining birds for signs of illness or weakness.
- Pull trailers via farm trucks to feed conversion houses, load birds ready for grow houses, and transfer birds from trailers to growout houses via 3' x 3' doors.
- Perform simple math calculations to determine pen size based on bird numbers, adjust feeders, water, and space for birds, and manage floor conditions by turning/adding shavings and checking ventilation.
- Sort birds by breast size, assist farm crews with killvac, collect weekly samples for corporate labs, and perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to follow safety policies and procedures, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, and Personal Protective Equipment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a biosecure environment, showering, changing clothing, and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear will be provided by the company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing.
