Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer I Transmission and Distribution to join our team at RES. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for designing, scheduling, and procurement management of utility scale high voltage substation and transmission line projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellence in the management and delivery of project technical deliverables, in line with client expectations.
  • Perform review of designs provided by Engineer of Record for compliance to technical requirements.
  • Provide explanation of variances, and early warning of potential variances to Project Manager.
  • Seek opportunities for value engineering and efficiencies in design.
  • Provide technical evaluation of proposals from material suppliers to support procurement.
  • Assist Procurement with coordination of product and shop drawings submittals to the Engineer of Record for approval and client acceptance.
  • Identify and quantify potential risks, contract clarifications, and exclusions.
  • Track equipment during manufacturing and delivery to support site team.
  • Set-up and manage technical documentation, drawings, specifications, submittals, and transmittals within the document control system (Procore).
  • Ensure that all superseded drawings, specifications, and other construction documents are marked as such, removed from the active layer and replaced with current versions, and transmitted to the corrected parties.
  • Provide feedback to Project Manager to support continuous improvement.
  • Manage and control the generation, issuance, resolution, and close-out of requests for information, technical enquiry forms, and transmittals/submittals.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Comply with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management or Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering required.
  • 1+ year of construction experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of Reading prints and drawings, and taking off quantities, creating logical and resource-loaded project schedules, planning and task direction preferred.
  • Domestic Travel up to 5-15%, Driver's License required.
