The Principal Nuclear Engineer- Mechanical in Engineering Services provides governance and oversight for multiple mechanical component activities at Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations. The Corporate Mechanical Engineer will be a Subject Matter Expert and will ensure industry leading performance via a robust Preventative Maintenance program and Long-Term Asset Management Strategies benchmarked against industry best practices, and will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Mechanical SME will maintain expertise on Salem and Hope Creek Mechanical and support systems, including chillers, HVAC, compressors, emergency diesel generators, and predictive maintenance technologies. The role will also involve mentoring site peers, providing support to the sites on complex and strategic issues, performing third-party reviews of technical documents, leading complex engineering analysis and technical issues, and providing in-the-field support during refuel outages. Additionally, the role will support common projects affecting both sites as part of business and project planning, and represent PSEG Nuclear by leading and influencing decision-making at the industry level.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology, and a minimum of 15 years of experience directly related to turbine/generator asset management, maintenance, and/or technical support. The candidate must also have excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility with changing priorities, and the ability to meet nuclear requirements for unescorted site access. Nuclear power plant experience and an advanced technical degree are desirable.
