Overview:
The Emissions Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing emission assessments on various vehicles, focusing on exhaust emissions and conducting tests in a controlled climatic environment. This role involves ensuring the precision and reliability of test outcomes, managing both physical and digital test data, and presenting findings to the Emissions Lab Manager for comprehensive analysis and feedback. Additionally, the technician is tasked with verifying the calibration of emission testing instruments and operating test cell systems effectively.
Experience Requirements:
This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for candidates eager to learn and pursue a career in the automotive sector.
Preferred Experience: 1-3 years in the automotive field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly operate vehicles on a dynamometer, including performance class vehicles, with specialized training required.
- Primarily work at a desk or within a test vehicle.
- Occasionally engage in walking, standing, or bending, and may need to lift or move items weighing up to 100 pounds.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
- Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly organized and reliable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Recent experience in the automotive industry.
- Strong command of the English language.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with emission testing methodologies.
- Formal training in customer service.
- Extensive diagnostic experience with Volkswagen and/or Audi vehicles, including the use of VAS testers.
- Proficiency in German and/or Spanish.
- Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications.
Educational Background:
A High School Diploma is required.
Work Schedule Flexibility:
This position operates on a two-shift schedule, with hours from 6 AM to 3 PM and 3 PM to 12 AM. Candidates must be willing to work both shifts throughout the year, including occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed.
